Growing up in poverty, children face tough challenges: hunger and malnutrition, limited access to education and medical services, social discrimination and isolation. But with support from people like you, we can help children get the health care, education, life skills, job-readiness training and confidence they need to create lasting change in their lives and communities. Together, we can end poverty for good. Who We Are.
Established in 2022, Omukisa Foundation strives to reach and uplift the poorest of the poor. We aim to assist disadvantaged African children in bugiri in their quest to obtain a quality, relevant education in order to ensure that they are in a position to become global citizens and a competitive, productive element in the local job market.
Omukisa Foundation delivers economy-focused education while assisting those most in need with opportunities to improve their access to relevant education, thus enabling them to participate fully in the global economy. With the continued help and support of our dedicated volunteers and sponsors, we can continue to fulfil our mission statement

Current State.
Our immediate focus is to continue our path of a high quality standard of project delivery accompanied by good governance in all our projects. Additionally, we are in the process of scaling two of our key projects and extend their reach to an ever-increasing number of beneficiaries, while also taking the community school to new levels of excellence.

What We Do.
Omukisa Foundation works in collaboration with local communities, Ministry of Education officials and local organisations to provide formal or alternative education and basic skills training. Our work includes projects aimed at reducing poverty and illiteracy among women, children, disabled people, those who have suffered displacement and instability, and those in nomadic and pastoralist communities.
We deliver our programmes by involving local communities, local employees and local political structures where appropriate, in a transparent and co-operative manner that emphasises collaborating rather than instructing. Our commitment to ‘education for all’ is developed within the context of local cultures wherever possible, and delivered through local participants who then come to own the schemes supported by the foundation.

Testimonials
I can honestly say that I get so much out of volunteering for the kids. I love helping people and I was born to care. It is very satisfying to know you are helping people to cope with life.
